Simplify recurring giving & multiply generosity with Subsplash

How Subsplash makes recurring giving easy to set up for donors

Recurring donations are emerging as a key driver of financial health and ministry growth. Did you know that recurring donors give an average of 42% more each year than one-time donors?

On top of that, consumers are becoming increasingly accustomed to subscription-based payments, meaning automated scheduled payments that are withdrawn on a certain date each month. These types of payments are quickly becoming the norm–and churches are taking notice!

Recurring giving allows donors to schedule automatic, repeat contributions to a cause, be it weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, eliminating the need to manually enter their payment info each time. For churches, this translates into steadier donations and more predictable support for ministry needs.

Today, nearly half of Christian donors are already enrolled in a monthly giving program. Churches that offer these options can budget more effectively and have stronger financial health because they know how much support is likely to come in.

Why recurring giving matters for churches

Recurring giving supports the mission of the church in powerful and practical ways, providing stability that helps ministries move from short-term reaction to long-term, faith-driven planning, providing:

1. Financial predictability

When churches can rely on consistent, recurring gifts, leaders gain clearer insight into future resources. This steady income allows them to plan ministries, staffing, missions, and outreach initiatives with greater confidence—shifting the focus from meeting immediate needs to investing strategically into long-term impact.

2. Donor convenience

Church members appreciate not having to manually give each week or month. Recurring giving removes friction from generosity, allowing donors to support the church consistently without relying on memory or timing. This is especially helpful for families with busy schedules, frequent travelers, or those who primarily attend online, making generosity feel simple, dependable, and stress-free.

3. Increased engagement

By choosing consistent giving, donors move from occasional participation to intentional partnership, aligning their generosity with the ongoing work of the church. As Jesus taught, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). Recurring giving helps foster this deeper sense of ownership and involvement, encouraging believers to commit to supporting their church faithfully over time.

Offering recurring options also positions your church as modern and donor-centric, allowing generosity to thrive both online and in-app experiences, with minimal friction.

How Subsplash supports recurring giving

Subsplash provides churches with a comprehensive online giving solution that includes seamless recurring gifts as part of its broader digital giving tools.

Through Subsplash Giving, donors can set up repeat contributions easily via your church’s app, website, or a dedicated giving link—with choices like weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly giving.

Below is a step-by-step look at how donors can set up recurring giving with Subsplash Giving:

1. Access the church’s giving page

Donors begin on your church’s Subsplash Giving page. This could be linked from your website, app, or shared in communications.

2. Log in or create an account

To set up recurring gifts, donors must be logged in to their donor profile. If they don’t already have an account, they can create one using their email—this also lets them manage their gifts, payment methods, and giving history later.

3. Enter donation details

Once logged in, donors can:

  • Enter the amount they wish to give
  • Choose a campus or specific fund if your church supports multiple funds
  • Select recurring as the frequency instead of a one-time gift. It’s that easy!

4. Choose a recurrence frequency

Subsplash offers flexible options such as:

  • Weekly: Processed on the same day each week (e.g. every Monday, Friday, etc.), resulting in 52 gifts per year.
  • Monthly: Gifts are processed on the same date each month (e.g. the 10th of each month), resulting in 12 gifts per year.
  • Every two weeks: Processed every other week on the same day of the week (e.g. every other Tuesday), resulting in 26 gifts per year.
  • Twice a month: Gifts made twice per month occur on the same dates each month, the second being set to process 14 days after the first (e.g. the 5th and 19th of each month). This results in 24 gifts per year.

This lets donors match their giving rhythm with their financial habits!

5. Set the start date & continue

Donors can select when the recurring gift should begin and confirm details before continuing.

6. Add a payment method

Here, donors enter or select a saved card or bank account (ACH), and then complete the set-up. Once a payment method is linked, it can be reused for future gifts.

7. Final review & submission

After reviewing all details, donors confirm their recurring gift. Subsplash then processes the schedule automatically on their chosen timeline.

Subsplash also empowers donors to manage their recurring giving after setup. They can log in to their donor profile to edit amounts, change frequency, update payment methods, or discontinue a schedule altogether—all without reaching out to the church office.

Best practices for churches

To get the most out of recurring giving, churches should:

  • Promote recurring options clearly in sermons, newsletters, and social media. It’s important people know automated giving exists!
  • Add giving links in prominent places online, like your church website, church app, social media, or anywhere people can make a donation during your services. Be as convenient and seamless as possible with innovative giving solutions like Subsplash Tap!
  • Educate your community on how recurring giving helps your ministries thrive, both financially and missionally. Consider discussing “the why” behind consistent church giving, teaching about tithes and offerings.

Churches, don’t miss the amazing benefits of recurring giving!

The Subsplash Platform is built to help churches thrive, save time, fuel your mission, and, most importantly, grow your impact for the Gospel!

Recurring giving eliminates the need for donors to manually give week after week, which boosts engagement and increases long-term financial partnership. By taking advantage of recurring giving, churches are able to simplify generosity for donors while building a more sustainable financial foundation for ministry.

The ease with which supporters can set up and manage recurring gifts helps strengthen engagement—and keeps generosity flowing week after week and month after month.
